Vaccines

The Gold Standard Plan is designed to provide core and non-core vaccines, a vaccine protocol personalized for your pet by a veterinarian, and an examination with a veterinarian.

Core vaccines for dogs prevent against:

  • Rabies virus

  • Distemper virus

  • Parvovirus

  • Parainfluenza virus

  • Adenovirus type 2

  • Leptospirosis- a non-core vaccine, but it is highly recommended for protection of dogs in our rural county

Core vaccines for cats prevent against:

  • Rabies virus

  • Feline Panleukopenia virus

  • Calicivirus

  • Chlamydia psittaci

  • Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis

  • Feline Leukemia Virus

Non-core vaccines for dogs, which are an option to add-on, prevent against:

  • Bordetella bronchiseptica (“Kennel cough”)

  • Canine Influenza

  • Rattlesnake


Surgery

Elective spays and neuters on the Gold Standard Plan include an examination by a veterinarian, pre-anesthetic bloodwork, IV fluids during surgery, and pre- and post-op pain management as well as a toe nail trim. Cat neuters do not include pre-anesthetic bloodwork or IV fluids during surgery, but they can be added on.

The Gold Standard Vaccines Plan is the best fit for your pet if:

  • you have any questions or concerns you would like to talk with a veterinarian about

  • you would like your pet to have an annual examination by a veterinarian

  • this is your pet’s first visit to CTVH (new client, puppy, or kitten)

  • you want the highest quality medicine.

The Gold Standard Surgery Plan is the best fit for your pet if:

  • you would like pre-anesthetic bloodwork, IV fluids, and pain management

  • your pet is older than 7 years of age

  • your pet is in heat, pregnant, or has retained testicle(s)

  • you want the highest quality medicine.
